Finca Son Vadó

Incredible and unique, this old rustic house with more than 300 years old and surrounded by nature is the perfect place for the most relaxing vacation you can imagine. Built centuries ago, enlarged in 1876, rebuilt in 1990 and updated in 2016, always with natural materials, always respecting the history of the estate and equipped with handcrafted furniture combined with the most modern comforts, it guarantees maximum comfort and a rural atmosphere. Cozy, always in the middle of nature.

Although the exact age of the house is unknown, we can assure that its history is of several centuries, since the house has been built in several phases, with different techniques, and has received different uses: from housing to wine cellar or house of tools. The house has 4 large water tanks manually excavated centuries ago in the hard rock floor, which gives faith of how difficult were the past, and gives a special character to the whole place.

Undoubtedly, its rustic appearance is its hallmark, although the most remarkable thing is the tranquility of the area where it is located. 5 kilometers from the town of Porreres, when leaving the road and after crossing the forest through an old winding path, just after arriving at the house we notice the scarcity of neighbors (the closest one is 1km away) and the natural calm of the area, which will allow us to disconnect completely.

This old house of natural stone is built on an estate of 140,000 square meters, where we find carob trees, almonds, plums, orange trees, oaks and some areas of pine. Enjoy the song of the birds and the whisper of the wind between the trees, without interferences.

The exterior of the house has a large terrace with swimming pool and hammocks, surrounded by trees (olive trees, carob trees, plums, even a large lemon tree directly in front of the house) and with total privacy.

There is also a natural wood porch with a hurdle roof surrounded by flowering plants and it is the perfect place to have a drink in the company of sitting on the outside sofa. There are also 2 other porches, one next to the pool, and another with a large table next to the barbecue. From the outside you can also access a bathroom with shower. There is WI · FI signal in the whole area of ​​the barbecue and pool. In the laundry room there is a washing machine, iron and ironing board.

The land is closed with a stone wall and the entrance door is a large metal barrier that can be easily closed.

Entering the house we see a large living room of 9mx4m, with a large oak table accompanied by olive chairs, all handmade and perfectly preserved. In addition, there is a large wood-burning fireplace that is capable of heating the great room quickly even on the coldest days of winter.

The kitchen, also completely renovated while retaining its original character, has everything you need to cook. It emphasizes in her the sink of stone chopped to traditional hand where formerly the dishes were scrubbed, and the small pantry, hidden behind a small wooden door. All handmade.

The 3 double bedrooms have been equipped with hot / cold air conditioning and new beds and mattresses of first quality, to ensure the best rest for guests. They are simple and rustic bedrooms, but very cozy, and with thick natural stone walls that guarantee rest in absolute silence and comfort.

The Finca Son Vadó  is located on the outskirts of Porreres, a small town in the center-south area of ​​Mallorca, located between the towns of Llucmajor, Montuiri, Villafranca, Felanitx and Campos. With a population registered in 2015, of 5,200 people, it is a very quiet and traditional town. In it, we can find a wide range of shops and supermarkets where to make our purchases, as well as different bars and restaurants and various historical buildings that deserve to be visited, such as the church or Mount Monti-sion and its monastery. In Porreres there are also 2 wine cellars produced in Porreres, a weekly street market (Tuesdays in the morning) and several craft and typical products stores of our island.

The nearest beaches are Sa Rápita, Es Trenc and Ses Covetes. Famous for its high quality, cleanliness and crystal clear waters. The closest one is Sa Ràpita, ideal for families, and is about 30 minutes from the Son Vadó estate.

You can also reach the city of Manacor or Palma de Mallorca, both 30 minutes to 35 minutes by car and there find a wide range of bars, restaurants, shops, cinemas, etc.
